Projects and Programs

The Healing and Creative Arts Center is unique in its approach to solving societal problems. We combine a personalized counseling/educational program for both children and adults, blending mental health care and artistic expression. The entire family is part of the healing process, and each family member is evaluated and helped. The goal of the Center is to empower children and adults to reach their fullest potential. In addition, the HACAC offers professional development workshops and trainings.

Counseling or Coaching for Individuals, Families, and Couples

In addition to being the director of The Healing and Creative Arts Center Maureen “Midge” Lansat, LMHC, offers her coaching and counseling services to individuals, families, and couples. Midge attributes her clients’ successes to her unique application of several relational theories. Her methods assist her clients to discover the source of their issues, and she provides them numerous tools for their personal growth. She believes committed, loving relationships are the most powerful and prized of all human experiences and have potential for the deepest personal and social healing.

Streamline Mediation

Streamline Mediation is a project of The Healing and Creative Arts Center that was started at the end of 2013. In addition to being a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida, Maureen Lansat (the founder of The HACAC) is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator. The need for Streamline Mediation became clear as Midge continued to see clients who were struggling to keep the peace through their divorce, meanwhile losing all of their money to legal fees, and losing even more money by missing work to be in court.

Continued Education Courses

Professionals can utilize Maureen’s Florida state approved CE workshops to improve their relationships with patients and staff. Benefits to participants include an increase in self-understanding, productivity, and effectiveness. Graduates will be equipped with new tools to enhance communication skills in both personal and professional relationships.

Fundraising for At-Risk Families

In addition to our other programs, the Healing and Creative Arts Center offers fundraising for families in need. We have assisted people who need an attorney, medical, psychiatrists, or a team of referrals. We utilize our large network of friends, former clients, and others to meet practical needs in the community.

Supervising and Mentoring other Counselors

In addition to her work as a counselor, Midge applies her decades of experience in the field to mentoring and supervising other counselors who are working on their state licenses. Her extensive qualifications include a Masters Degree in Counseling and Guidance, a certificate in Family and Systemic Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, a certificate in Imago Relationship Theory, and a Florida State License in Mental Health Counseling. She is also a Registered and Qualified State Licensed Supervisor and a Trainer of Counselors in the state of Florida.

Online Workshops

Healing and Creative Arts Center has developed a series of online workshops to meet our clients needs in an even more personal way. In the workshops, Midge will teach critical thinking skills, interpersonal skills, and communication skills. In addition, she will help students understand themselves and their relationships on a deeper level.
