Please read the letter below from Barry Gladstein, a supporter of The HACAC who is going to Israel with donations and supplies for families that have been affected by war and terrorism near the Gaza border.
My name is Barry Gladstein. I cannot put into words the immense impact ministry work has had on my life. From 2002-2008 I made 10 trips to Israel in collaboration with the Hands of Mercy ministry. On each these trips, I brought an extra suitcase full of new clothes, baby formula, and money. I cannot express the satisfaction my soul received from being able to give in this way. For this, I am forever grateful.
I recently received a newsletter from Israel describing how families in the town of Sderot are in dire need of provisions. This town is only a short distance from the Gaza border, and due to its proximity, it has been hit with rockets from Gaza. In the newsletter, I read about one family in particular with 12 children that needs extra care and assistance. Since my last trip in 2008, I have been focused on myself and providing for my family, but I now realize it’s time I go back and give once again. My plan is to collect money and supplies for the families in need, and travel back to Israel to hand-deliver them myself. With this in mind, I’m returning to Israel from July 30 through August 9, 2015.
I am writing this letter to request your support to provide me with donations to bring to the families and children who have been affected by the acts of war and terrorism in Sderot. I will be covering the costs of my travel and I will be bringing donations of my own to provide to the families. Anything additional you are able to donate to The Healing and Creative Arts Center for this campaign will go straight to the families in need. I will be collaborating with Hands of Mercy once again, whose supporters are already on the ground in Sderot, which will make it possible for me to identify the families who are most in need. In addition to monetary donations, I am hoping to bring new clothes of all sizes, toothbrushes, baby formula, and other necessities, which Hands of Mercy will help me to distribute to the families who need them most.
Your financial help will be deeply appreciated both by myself and by the families I’ll be able to assist with your donations. Thank you for taking the time to read about my dream and helping it become a reality.
